Planting Instructions:
Sowing Time: Late summer to autumn or early spring
Position: Partial shade to full sun (prefers dappled shade)
Soil: Moist, well-drained soil rich in organic matter
Sowing Depth: Lightly cover with soil
Spacing: 30-40cm apart
Germination Time: 21-30 days (cooler temps preferred)
Flowering Time: Spring to early summer (flowers in second year)
Growing Tips:
Cold stratification recommended: Chill seeds in the fridge for 3-4 weeks before sowing to improve germination.
Keep soil moist during germination but not soggy.
Self-seeds easily — allow some flowers to go to seed if you’d like them to naturalise.
Deadhead spent blooms to prolong flowering and prevent excessive self-seeding if desired.
Tolerates light frosts and grows well in temperate climates.
