Celosia Scarlet Plume Seeds – Celosia plumosa
A showy annual producing brilliant, feathery plumes of vivid scarlet-red flowers. Perfect for adding bold colour and texture to garden beds, borders, and containers. Long-lasting blooms also make excellent cut or dried flowers.
Each packet contains 250 seeds.
Planting Instructions:
Sowing Time: Spring to early summer (after frost risk has passed)
Position: Full sun
Soil: Well-drained, fertile soil
Sowing Depth: Lightly cover with soil (2-3mm deep)
Spacing: 20-30cm apart
Germination Time: 10-14 days
Flowering Time: 8-10 weeks from sowing
Growing Tips:
Prefers warm conditions and consistent moisture — do not allow soil to dry out during early growth.
Avoid over-fertilising; too much nitrogen may encourage excess foliage over flowers.
Deadhead spent blooms to encourage continuous flowering.
Protect from strong winds, as tall plumes can be top-heavy.
Excellent for drying—cut when flowers are fully open and hang upside down in a dry, airy place.
