The Mexican Hat Flower Seeds, or Ratibida columnifera, are perennial seeds that grow into plants with greyish-green leaves and distinctive daisy-like flowers. These flowers, mahogany red with yellow edges, resemble mini sombreros. The plants are low-maintenance, tolerant of dry and poor soil conditions, and attract bees, butterflies, and beneficial insects. The flowers can also be used to produce a natural red dye.

How To Grow
Choose a spot in your garden that gets full sun and has well-drained soil.
In autumn, sow the Mexican Hat Flower seeds directly into the soil at a depth of 2mm.
Maintain a temperature of 20-30°C for optimal germination, which should occur within 20-40 days.
Once germinated, ensure each plant has about 30cm of space for healthy growth.
The plants will grow to a height of around 80cm and are frost hardy perennials.
After about 290-350 days, the plants should mature and start flowering.
