A stunning Australian native tree, the Red Flowering Gum produces masses of vibrant red flowers that attract birds, bees, and pollinators. Compact and hardy, it’s perfect for small gardens, street planting, or as a feature tree.
Each packet contains 10 seeds.
Planting Instructions:
Sowing Time: Spring to early summer
Position: Full sun
Soil: Well-drained soil, sandy or loamy preferred
Sowing Depth: Surface sow – press seeds lightly into soil, do not cover
Spacing: 3-5 metres apart (if planting multiple)
Germination Time: 14-30 days (may be variable)
Growth Habit: Medium tree, 4-10m tall depending on conditions
Growing Tips:
Smoke treatment improves germination (optional, but boosts success).
Keep soil moist but not waterlogged during germination.
Once established, highly drought-tolerant and low maintenance.
Prefers low-phosphorus native plant fertiliser if feeding.
Prune lightly when young to encourage good shape.
