Sweet Basil is an excellent aromatic herb, useful for seasoning soups, salads and omelettes. Its distinctive, slightly clove like flavour makes it a particularly good companion to tomatoes. A popular choice for the home herb garden, it produces abundant fragrant leaves throughout the warmer months.

Each packet contains approximately 750 seeds.

Planting Instructions

Sowing Time: Spring, Summer and Autumn
Position: Full sun to part shade
Soil: Well drained, rich soil
Sowing Depth: 5mm
Spacing: Allow approximately 30cm between plants
Germination: 10 to 14 days

Growing Tips

Keep the soil moist during germination. Pick leaves as required throughout summer. If leaves are to be frozen or dried, harvest before the plant begins flowering. To encourage bushy growth, pinch out the tip of the main stem.
